A Married Couple Becomes Agitated About Their Heavy Drinking And Questions Whether They Exhibit Any Signs Of Alcohol Dependency
Lenny and Angie have been married for six years. They wanted to have some excitement and fun before they decided to have some kids and so they by design constructed an exceptionally active social life.
The chief difficulty, it needs to be highlighted, is that almost everything they do socially somehow includes drinking. As an illustration, all of the happy hours, parties with friends, sporting events, family get-togethers, and dinner engagements they frequent somehow involve drinking.

For instance, just six days ago Lenny was apprehended by the police for a second DUI and has been taking time off from work because of alcohol-related health issues. What is more, Lenny's last two performance reviews at work have been less than laudable and he has begun to fail to remember what he does or says while he drinks. As a final point, Lenny has been having sleep-related problems and his family has begun to exhibit apprehension about his drinking behavior.
Not unlike Lenny's situation, Angie has been feeling disheartened with life and to cope with this, she has been drinking more habitually than any time in the past eleven months. Moreover, Angie has been experiencing more than a few headaches and having intense hangovers due to her drinking. Finally, Angie has been feeling substantially less active when she awakens in the morning, she has been getting to work late virtually every Monday, and she has been getting some strong criticism from her coworkers, family members, relatives, and friends about her abusive and careless drinking.
One Thursday evening while watching TV, Lenny and Angie without any planning whatsoever discovered a captivating documentary about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about alcoholism signs in particular. This TV program was a real surprise to Angie and Lenny because more than a few of the alcohol facts that were listed appeared as if they were undeniably linked to several of the drinking problems Lenny and Angie had been going through.
With thoughts of the television special still running through her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcoholism signs they have been manifesting could be a warning that they are addicted to alcohol or maybe becoming addicted to alcohol. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's inquiry and so he recommended that they schedule an appointment with one of the healthcare professionals at the local substance abuse rehabilitation clinic to find out more about the severity of their drinking problems.
Paradoxically, although their drinking situation hadn't yet changed, it was obvious that Angie and Lenny were at the very least facing their drinking difficulties, they were ready to find out more about their drinking behavior, and they were interested in finding out how they could appreciably lessen or eliminate the alcohol-related difficulties that had begun to go from bad to worse.
When Angie and Lenny went to bed that evening, they determined that the next day, Lenny would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the alcohol abuse treatment clinic located just South of the State Capital. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to defeat the alcohol-related difficulties that had manifested themselves in their lives, they in point of fact had the most refreshing night's sleep they could recall in the last year.
